Features and Functionality

Paymo has some very exciting features. Here are some of the most notable ones:

Task management

Divide projects into tasks, and tasks into sub-tasks and lists to manage them like never before. You can save time by creating project templates to use again later and setting automated recurring tasks.

Kanban boards

Eliminate bottlenecks early on and visualize your team’s work with visual Kanban boards. You can easily switch back and forth between the classic and Kanban views.

Gantt charts

Paymo’s Portfolio Gantt Charts can be used to get an idea of the starting date, end date, the duration and any dependencies present between related tasks.

Resource scheduling

With the help of an aesthetically pleasing timeline, you will be able to manage your team and time, visually. You can check all your department or company resources with one timeline, as well as set automatic bookings based on previous task details to help you save time.

Secure file sharing

All the files related to a project can be stored at a central repository where anyone from the team can access them. This helps eliminate confusion and messy email chains. You can also add files at a task level, either from your computer or directly from your Google Drive.

Invoices, expenses, and estimates

Turn your time-sheet info into an invoice, and create invoices in multiple languages and currencies. You can also track your expenses and create estimates with this feature.

Web timer

With Paymo, you can record all the time spent while working on a specific project by starting the stopwatch. This will help you create accurate time reports.

Paymo Plus

Paymo Plus is a great feature that will help you stay focused and productive. It’s basically an automatic time tracker that records every activity on your desktop, then lets you pair those time entries with their corresponding tasks at the end of the day. Either manually or with the help of automated rules.. You’ll know how long you’ve spent on Facebook, away from your desk, or on any non-work related activities.

Ease of Use

Both the desktop and web interfaces of the application are highly neat and efficient. There is automatic field completion whenever you start typing the name in fields, such as project name, tasks, etc. Time-sheets are also displayed in a beautiful calendar style with the ability to drag-and-drop as you please. Most of the features are pretty easy to get a hang of, and a few days of use should be enough to get your whole team acquainted with Paymo.

Applications and Integrations

Paymo has a desktop application along with the web application which works on all the popular web browsers. When you are away from work, you can stay connected with the Android and iOS applications. With the paid plans, you also get the opportunity to integrate your Paymo solution with Zapier, email, and a user-performance-tracking feature.

Customer support

For customer support, Paymo offers an in-app help button (not a live chat). You can reach the support team either via email. Their response time is on average under 2 hours. Also, since the software is so easy to use and understand, complex issues are rare and minor ones can be easily resolved with the help of their online knowledge base and community forum.

However, when compared to its competitors, the pricing plans are a bit steep, when you take into account the features other companies provide in the same range. However, all things considered, exceptional features like Kanban and Gantt charts, automatic time tracking and time-sheet reporting still make it a very viable choice when it comes to modern project management tools.
